Diet and proper brushing and flossing are important factors in keeping the mouth healthy and happy. We work hard to provide a fun and relaxed environment where children learn about healthy food choices and good dental hygiene.
Some foods to be cautious of include:
- Sugary drinks such as juice, flavored milk and sodas.
- Chewy snacks that stick to the teeth. This includes crackers.
- Candy. Feel free to donate your candy to Dr. Mike and his staff 🙂
It is also important to brush your teeth at least two times per day, after breakfast and before bed. Flossing may begin once the contacts between the teeth are tight and too small for the toothbrush to clean. Most children don’t have the dexterity or patience to brush and floss their teeth well so adult supervision and assistance is often recommended.
